“If Steven Wright, Mos Def and Dave Chappelle had a baby, that would be disgusting, but it would sound like Hannibal Buress. The funniest young comic I’ve seen in years.” – Chris Rock

Chicago-bred New York-based stand-up comedian Hannibal Buress established himself as a master of “comedic jokes related to personal stories, current events, the streets, and even food” (yes, someone actually wrote and published that line) in ANIMAL FURNACE, his COMEDY CENTRAL original one-hour stand-up special that premiered May 20.

Hannibal Buress has appeared on THE LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN, LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON, JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE!, THE LATE LATE SHOW WITH CRAIG FERGUSON, CONAN and numerous other late night TV shows. He has also made prime time appearances on LOUIE and 30 ROCK, and is the co-host of the Adult Swim series THE ERIC ANDRE SHOW.
Buress has previously worked on the writing staffs of 30 ROCK and SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, and released his debut album, MY NAME IS HANNIBAL, in 2010 on Stand Up! Records.

Though perpetually touring, Buress considers New York City, where he hosts a weekly Sunday comedy night at Brooklyn’s Knitting Factory, to be his place of residence. He lives with zero pets and an XBOX 360, and has a cable package with the Starz network but never watches it.

Miami’s ultimate Latin funk fusion jam band. Funk cruises through the Caribbean picking up Afro sounds from Cuba and Puerto Rico. Reggae meets rock in a head-on collision. Jazz and electro hook up for a sidewalk makeout session. Hip-hop seems to hum from the very pavement, and R&B drifts in on the night wind. Suenalo reaches to far-flung corners and retrieves all these, takes them and mashing them together, marrying them—disparate players melded into a somehow harmonious blend. It defies logic that such diverse influences can find balance at the deft hands of one band. And yet they do.

DC and Atlanta based artist, Deuce Ducartier will bring his rap-rock performance to The Stage. With his massive vocals and cutting-edge sound, Deuce Ducartier draws in listeners with the tractor beam of his lyrical raps and raw singing talent. His music is awash in explosive classic-rock guitar riffing and interwoven with hard-hitting bass to create a new genre he’s dubbed Rap n’ Roll, a sound that takes both rock and hip-hop to the next level. Opening up for Deuce is The Politix, emerging Hip Hop band based in Miami, FL. The group consists of five young talented musicians that blend their Jazz training with Hip Hop influences to create a new infused sound.

Thur Dec 6th - Tilly and the Wall!!!!! LIVE at the The Stage!!!

Hailing from the musical hotbed of Omaha, Nebraska, the indie pop anomaly Tilly and the Wall formed in 2001 out of the ashes of several groups -- including Conor Oberst's pre-Bright Eyes endeavor, Park Avenue -- and gained some underground recognition for their unorthodox approach to percussion, forsaking the traditional drum kit for the amplified tap shoes of dancer Jamie Williams (as well as hand percussion supplied by vocalists Neely Jenkins and Kianna Alarid). Rounded out by guitarist/vocalist Derek Pre
ssnall and keyboardist Nick White (a contributor to Bright Eyes' live sets), the five-piece recorded a six-track demo titled Woo! in Oberst's basement that passed through enough hands to allow Tilly and the Wall an opportunity to tour. The group settled down to record, issuing a 7" titled 7 Inch on Rue Royal Records and subsequently convened to record their debut full-length, due out as the flagship release on Team Love, Oberst's sister label to Saddle Creek, in the spring of 2004. Released two years later, Bottoms of Barrels found a more confident and warmer sound from the band. Derek Pressnall and Jamie Williams married soon after its release, with fellow indie poppers Of Montreal serving as the wedding band. After another round of touring, O arrived in 2008, featuring several songs that showcased a louder, more aggressive side of Tilly and the Wall. The band appeared on Sesame Street performing a version of the ABC song, then struck gold with "Pot Kettle Black" as it appeared on TV ads and movie soundtracks. After taking a long break, the group returned in 2012 with a decidedly more strident and forceful musical approach influenced by politics and dance punk. Team Love released Heavy Mood in the fall of 2012.

Saturday Night Nov 24 - New Times Presents - Brendan O'Hara!!!!!

Made in Miami. Using the most adept musicians, Brendan O’Hara has assembled a band as eclectic and energetic as the Magic City itself. Funky and lyrical- with in the pocket drums, sensitive-soul- spiced bass, with Division One University tight horns that gel sweetly and solo swiftly…The backing band's sound surrounds this singer-songwriter who performs as if it’s the last time he’ll touch a microphone. Jumping between piano and guitar throughout the set- the sound slides from old school R&B to Rock and Roll
with obvious elements of Jazz and Soul story telling…We call this Roots-Rock-Street-lounge. A sound steeped in an older Era- like Bitters and Bourbon, Tonic and Gin, yet infused with the raw perspective of the New Millenium. Gaining the respect of South Florida’s regional community, and fans from New York to New Orleans, the sound is homemade and ready to travel. NBC, The Miami Herald, Ocean Drive, Miami Modern Luxury, the Village Voice syndication- They have all made note! The accolades have been bestowed both for their creatively concocted sound- part urban/part tropical- and their approach to the ever evolving landscape of the new music ‘bidness, so you’re bound to catch Brendan O’Hara & his big band just about any where- The candle lit speak easy, pool side well past sunset , or Center Stage- until the light’s go out.
